learning Support Assistant - South East London

Job description

Are you a dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and challenging behaviour? We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a KS2 year group in South East London on a long-term contract.

Experience:

- Proven ability to work effectively with children with a range of Special Educational Needs, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional and behavioural difficulties

- Confidence in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner

- Experience in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting the differentiation of tasks to meet the diverse learning needs of students

- Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic support and ensure the overall well-being of the students.

Other Requirements:

- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide academic and personal support to students

- Patience, compassion, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all children

- Ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team and external professionals

- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the students

- Compliance with safeguarding guidelines and a willingness to undergo necessary checks
