Location: Cambridge, UK
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time

Simply Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Mentor to work within a college setting in Cambridge. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people and young adults in further education, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in mentoring, pastoral support, SEND, or youth work who are passionate about making a positive difference in an educational environment.
The Role
As a Learning Support Mentor, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
- Support learners with SEND, SEMH needs, or additional learning needs
- Assist students in developing academic confidence and independent study skills
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Work closely with teaching staff and the safeguarding team
- Support students' personal development, wellbeing, and progression
- Maintain accurate records of support provided
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Education, Childcare, Youth Work, or a related field
- Experience supporting young people in an educational or mentoring capacity
- Experience within a college or secondary setting (desirable)
- Understanding of SEND and SEMH needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students
- A patient, proactive, and supportive approach
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Enhanced DBS check (registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to meet safeguarding and recruitment compliance standards
