Level 3 Teaching Assistant - SEMH School

Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)

We are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in a specialist SEMH school based in Ely. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.


About the Role:

  • Full-time, term-time position in a specialist SEMH provision

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to help them engage in learning

  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom management

  • Foster a safe, nurturing environment to promote students' emotional and academic development

  • Implement tailored strategies to manage behaviour and support emotional regulation

  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including therapists and SEN professionals


We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASD, or additional needs (desirable)

  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and strong behaviour management skills

  • Is passionate about inclusion and helping every child reach their potential

  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with children who have experienced trauma or adversity
