Working as a Pastoral Officer will enable you to work closely with students, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community to ensure every student has the opportunity to excel academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of a Pastoral Officer is both challenging and rewarding, with responsibilities including:
- Creating a school ethos that champions learning, academic success, and personal development.
- Encouraging engaging learning experiences that raise aspirations and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Setting clear and measurable goals to support the academic progress and personal growth of all learners.
- Meeting with students and parents/carers to address and resolve pastoral concerns effectively and compassionately.
- Designing, implementing, and reviewing time-bound action plans for individuals and groups, particularly for vulnerable students, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of progress.
- Supporting the safeguarding of students, working proactively to identify and address welfare concerns.
- Building strong relationships with external agencies to ensure additional support is available when needed.
- Collaborating with staff to promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
