Salary: Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (dependent on experience)
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary setting in Braintree. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are passionate about promoting physical activity, teamwork, and lifelong healthy lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and challenging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach a broad range of sports and physical activities
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and curriculum planning
Lead or support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities
Promote high standards of behaviour, participation, and sportsmanship
Support whole-school initiatives relating to wellbeing and physical health
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting (including ECT placements)
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A commitment to inclusive practice and student development
The ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
Willingness to contribute to extracurricular sport
