Primary Teacher
Job description
Simply Education are currently looking for a Primary Teacher to join our clients school in the Surrey area. This school supports pupils aged 6-11 with communication difficulties linked to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will be delivering high quality teaching and learning. Although the school is a primary school, many of the students are working at least 2 academic years behind their chronological age. Knowledge of teaching KS1 and early KS2 is desirable.
Key Duties:
- Deliver and develop curriculum plans that meet student's educational, physical, and social needs.
- Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets.
- Assess, track, and report student progress to stakeholders in line with school policies.
- Create structured, engaging lessons with clear objectives and challenge.
- Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
- Stay informed on autism-related developments to support effective teaching.
- Work positively and non-confrontational to meet individual needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- QTS is essential
- Ability to teach across a range of subjects.
- Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profile
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
