Simply Education is working with a large primary school in Oxford to recruit a dependable and experienced School Caretaker / Site Manager. This role is ideal for someone with strong maintenance skills and previous experience working in a school or similar environment.

The school site covers approximately five acres, so a proactive and hands-on approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities (Caretaker / Maintenance Duties):

• Opening and locking the school buildings each day

• Carrying out weekly fire alarm testing

• Completing water temperature checks and flushing routines

• Undertaking minor repairs and general maintenance

• Changing light fittings, bulbs, and basic electrical items

• Maintaining school buildings and outdoor areas

• Ensuring the site is safe, secure, and compliant with health & safety regulations

• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school site

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Maintenance Operative, or similar role

• Practical DIY and basic maintenance skills

• Ability to work independently and manage site responsibilities

• Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service) or willingness to apply for one

• Reliable, trustworthy, and professional attitude
