Science Teacher (16hrs)
Job description
Simply Education are looking for a part-time (permanent) Science teacher with a background in SEN & SEMH. The school is a small registered, independent educational provision in the Barnsley area - dedicated for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role is perfect for someone workign on supply or looking to only work a few days a week.
About the role:
- Teach all 3 science subjects to pupils (Funtional skills to GCSE level)
- 16hrs a week - 2days a week
- Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Experience teaching through a spiral programme, revisiting concepts and topic areas, each time extending knowledge, deepening understanding and developing skills
- Work alongside relevant internal and external professionals such as psychologists and therapists
Requirements:
- A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
- At least two years' experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
- QTS/QTLS is a requirement
