Location: Ashley, Manchester
Salary: £100.00 - £130.00 per day (depending on payroll selection)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate start available

Provide Consistent, Compassionate Support to Young People with SEMH Needs

Simply Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient Educational Support Worker to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Stockport, Manchester. This provision supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require an alternative to mainstream education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with vulnerable young people, helping them re-engage with learning, regulate their emotions, and develop confidence within a safe and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to support students with SEMH needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote emotional wellbeing and engagement
* Support the delivery of lessons by adapting approaches to meet individual learning and behavioural needs
* Implement strategies to manage behaviour and de-escalate incidents in a calm and professional manner
* Reinforce positive routines, boundaries, and social development
* Liaise with teachers, safeguarding leads, therapists, and external agencies to support pupil progress
* Maintain a safe and structured learning environment in line with safeguarding policies

Person Specification
* Experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or those affected by trauma or exclusion
* Strong emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
* An understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviour regulation strategies
* Positive and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour
* Knowledge of interventions or frameworks such as Team Teach, Zones of Regulation, or restorative practice (desirable)
* A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of disengaged or at-risk pupils
* Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, psychology, education, or SEMH (desirable but not essential)
