SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Alsager, Cheshire
Pay: £88.92 - £100.53 per day (dependent on payroll choice)
Start Date: April and September 2025 available

About the Role:

Simply Education is partnering with a specialist school in Alsager, rated 'Good' by Ofsted. The school provides high-quality education for students with SEMH needs aged 4 to 19 in a supportive environment. With small class sizes (around 7 students) and a total of 80 students on roll, the school offers individual attention and tailored support.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work directly with students, assisting with learning activities and helping them develop confidence and social, emotional, and academic skills. Whether you have experience or are eager to learn, this role offers growth in a rewarding setting.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students in classroom activities, assisting them in achieving their individual learning and emotional goals.
  • Helping with emotional regulation and behavioural management strategies (such as positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, etc.).
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for SEMH students.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support.
  • Encouraging students in social, emotional, and academic skills development.

What We're Looking For:

  • A caring, patient individual passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs.
  • Experience in education or working with SEMH students is helpful but not essential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a special need's education setting.
