SEN Cover Supervisor
Job description
We are looking to appoint committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support a number of special education need schools across Northamptonshire on a full-time or flexible basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in schools supporting secondary or SEN students.
Our schools are vibrant, inclusive environments that support students with a wide range of needs, including cognition and learning challenges and autism. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality learning experiences when regular teachers are absent, helping students to continue making progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and deliver lessons in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring continuity of learning
Work effectively with individuals and small groups of pupils, including those with SEN
Support a positive and safe learning environment across different school settings
Encourage students' independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Follow lesson plans and provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
We are looking for candidates who:
Have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, or UK teaching experience in secondary or SEN settings
Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Have a clear understanding of the needs of students with SEN
Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a positive attitude to the role
