SEN Supply Teacher - Full Time
Salary: £ 31.650- 42.000 per annum
Location: Cambridge
A specialist school in Cambridge is looking for a reliable and experienced SEN Supply Teacher to join their team. This is a full-time position covering teacher absences and supporting classes across the school. The role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of pupils with additional needs, including autism, global developmental delay, learning difficulties, and complex social and emotional needs.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, calm under pressure, and confident working across different key stages and levels of ability. You will play a vital role in maintaining consistency and continuity of learning for pupils when their usual class teacher is absent.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Supply Teacher, you will be expected to:
Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
Adapt lesson materials and teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs
Support pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including those with communication, sensory, and behavioural challenges
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to manage the classroom effectively
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Promote positive behaviour and implement individual behaviour support strategies
Record and report on pupil progress where required
Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Step in flexibly across different classes or key stages as needed
What We are Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience teaching in a special needs or alternative provision setting
Confidence in managing different classroom environments
Ability to build quick, positive relationships with pupils and staff
Strong communication and organisational skills
A flexible, patient, and proactive attitude
