SEN Teacher
Location: Royston, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (M1-UPS3)
Reporting to: Head of School
Hours: permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
We seek a dedicated and skilled teacher to join our team, committed to delivering high-quality education that prepares young people for adulthood. You will plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons within a meaningful curriculum tailored to learners' needs. Main Purpose:
To deliver high quality teaching and learning to children and young people with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs including ASD.
Requirements:
PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training (essential)
Working knowledge of the Teacher Standards and expectations
Knowledge and personal experience of SEN learning particularly sensory lead curriculum
Positive team working, being able to contribute to our established team
Diligence and accuracy in assessing, reporting and recording
The ability to lead and direct other adults supporting within the class
The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines
Key Duties
To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
Collaborate with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
To maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.
To set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
To monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed.
To maintain knowledge through training and research where appropriate.
To develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.
To attend and contribute to all relevant meetings and maintain good lines of communication with other staff.
To contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
