SEN Teacher
Location:
Royston, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (M1-UPS3)

Reporting to: Head of School
Hours: permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

We seek a dedicated and skilled teacher to join our team, committed to delivering high-quality education that prepares young people for adulthood. You will plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons within a meaningful curriculum tailored to learners' needs. Main Purpose:

To deliver high quality teaching and learning to children and young people with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs including ASD.

Requirements:

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training (essential)
  • Working knowledge of the Teacher Standards and expectations
  • Knowledge and personal experience of SEN learning particularly sensory lead curriculum
  • Positive team working, being able to contribute to our established team
  • Diligence and accuracy in assessing, reporting and recording
  • The ability to lead and direct other adults supporting within the class
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines

Key Duties

  • To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • To maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  • To set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
  • To monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed.
  • To maintain knowledge through training and research where appropriate.
  • To develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.
  • To attend and contribute to all relevant meetings and maintain good lines of communication with other staff.
  • To contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
