About the Role

Simply Education is looking for a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced special needs school in Huntingdon. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator with a passion for supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Speech and Language Difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

You will be part of a strong, collaborative team dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEN pupils.

  • Promote pupils' communication, independence, emotional wellbeing, and social development.

  • Use creative, flexible teaching strategies to encourage participation and build confidence.

  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, pastoral staff, and families to provide fully integrated support.

  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track progress effectively.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that supports the whole child.


About You

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience working with children with SEN in mainstream or specialist settings.

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting pupils with complex needs.

  • Strong understanding of child-centred, inclusive education.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
