Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant - Temp to Perm
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)

The Role

Simply Education is working in partnership with a warm and welcoming SEN school in Ely to recruit a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right person who is enthusiastic, empathetic, and ready to support children with a wide range of needs.

You'll be working alongside teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality, individualised support to pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), communication difficulties, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities
  • Helping manage behaviour positively and effectively
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development
  • Assisting with personal care where necessary
  • Communicating with staff and SENCO to report progress and concerns

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working in a SEN setting is essential
  • Calm, caring, and proactive with a flexible approach
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviours with a positive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
