Position: Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Ongoing / Permanent opportunities available
About the Role:
Simply Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Ely. This rewarding position is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with MLD and associated learning needs.
- Assist teachers in creating engaging, differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
- Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and communication.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support for each learner.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience working with children or young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting learning and managing behaviour.
- Own transport, as the school is not easily accessible by public transport.
- Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (desirable).
