SEN Teaching Assistant

Simply Education are working with a fantastic little mainstream primary school in Grantham that are looking to welcome an SEN teaching assistant to their team. The role is full time, Monday to Friday and will mainly include support in key stage 1 although, you may be required to support up to year 6.

The school are looking for someone to support their children with their education and development including working on both a one to one, and small group basis.

The Role:

- As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing one-on-one support to students with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
- Collaborating with the classroom teacher to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Occasional group work, facilitating peer learning and collaboration.
- Implementing personalised educational plans and monitoring student progress.
- Creating a nurturing atmosphere that fosters student confidence, self-esteem, and a love for learning.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in student's lives.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of individual learners.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn new techniques and strategies.

This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday), but part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.

Start Date: Immediate or February 2025 (flexible)
