Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lewisham, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: £100-£120 per day (depending on experience)

A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. This role is well suited to someone with experience supporting children with additional needs and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.

The Role:
You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with SEN, helping them to access learning and develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS, KS1, or KS2

  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions

  • Assisting with lesson delivery and adapting activities where needed

  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or with children with additional needs (preferred)

  • Experience in a mainstream primary school setting is desirable

  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
