Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lewisham, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: £100-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Lewisham that is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting students with additional needs in a secondary school setting.

The Role:
You will provide targeted support to students with SEN, working both in the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions. The role focuses on helping students access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning, and develop confidence and independence within a mainstream environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEN across KS3 and KS4

  • Working one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce learning

  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and differentiation

  • Supporting students' behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation

  • Liaising with teaching staff and the SENCo to implement support strategies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or working with young people with additional needs (preferred)

  • Experience within a mainstream secondary school setting is desirable

  • A patient, proactive, and supportive approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
