Job description
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Semilong, Northampton
Hours: 39 hours per week, term time only
Salary: £18,000+ (TBC on successful application and experience)
Contract: Temporary with the potential for Permanent appointment
Are you a creative individual who enjoys promoting a love of learning? Do you have experience working in a SEND environment and are looking for a new challenge? Most importantly, are you someone who can help inspire learners and strive to provide a positive experience of education?
If yes, we are looking for you! We have an exciting opportunity in a growing SEND school setting. This primary special school caters to children between the ages of 4 and 11 with severe or profound learning difficulties, communication and physical difficulties. We also cater for pupils on the autistic spectrum. Some children may also have multi-sensory impairment and complex medical difficulties. As the school continues to grow, they are looking to expand their team to provide even more support for future students!
Requirements:
- CACHE/NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning in the Classroom or similar is ideal, however, unqualified candidates will be considered with appropriate experience.
- Experience in SEND settings or supporting SEN learners.
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- A commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
- A positive and creative approach to meeting pupils' individual needs.
