A special educational needs school in central Northampton is seeking a compassionate, reliable SEND Support Practitioner to join their nurturing and supportive team. The school specialises in working with children who have highly complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, and offers an environment where every child can thrive.

This is a full-time position, with the opportunity to start immediately or on an agreed date for the right candidate.

As a SEND Support Practitioner, you will work closely with children 1:1 and in small groups, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs. You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to help pupils reach their full potential in a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support for children with complex needs

  • Assist pupils with emotional regulation, communication, learning, and daily routines

  • Implement behaviour management strategies using a calm, empathetic approach

  • Foster independence, confidence, and wellbeing in every child

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals to deliver individualised support plans

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment



What We're Looking For:

  • Experience or strong interest in working with children with SEND

  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, and complex additional needs

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing, resilient approach

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic school environment

  • Reliability, commitment, and a genuine passion for making a difference
