SEND Teacher - Specialist School

About the School

The school caters for pupils with a diverse range of needs, including:

  • Autism (ASC)

  • Moderate to severe learning difficulties

  • Speech, language, and communication difficulties

You will be joining a warm, collaborative environment with strong leadership and a multidisciplinary support team.

Your Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, tailored lessons to meet individual EHCP targets

  • Use a range of strategies to support learning, communication, and regulation

  • Lead a class team including support staff and specialist assistants

  • Work closely with therapists, parents/carers, and external agencies

  • Track pupil progress and contribute to reviews and assessments

  • Create an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment

What We're Looking For

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience working with SEND pupils (school, specialist setting, or mainstream SEND role)

  • Strong behaviour management and a calm, supportive approach

  • Creativity in lesson planning and a passion for inclusive education

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • (Desirable) Experience with TEACCH, Makaton, PECS, or sensory-based learning
