Educational Support Worker - Specialist SEND Provision
Location: Stockport, Manchester
Salary: £100.00 - £110.00 per day (dependent on payroll selection)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate start available

Simply Education is looking to appoint a committed and empathetic Educational Support Worker to work in a specialist SEND school in the Stockport area. The setting supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Global Development Delay (GDD), communication challenges, and associated social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to pupils with complex SEND profiles
* Adapt learning materials and activities under teacher direction to suit individual learning styles
* Support students with personal development, communication, and emotional regulation
* Help implement EHCP targets and individual support strategies across the school day
* Assist with transitions, sensory breaks, and structured play to promote calm and engagement
* Work closely with SENCOs, class teachers, therapists, and external agencies
* Maintain high levels of safeguarding, safety, and positive behaviour throughout the day
Person Specification
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, including Autism, speech and language needs, or cognitive delay
* Knowledge of SEND strategies, such as PECS, Makaton, sensory integration, or visual timetables (desirable)
* A calm, patient, and understanding approach with a focus on consistency and structure
* Familiarity with or interest in trauma-informed and person-centred practice
* Strong emotional resilience and the ability to manage complex behaviour professionally
* Relevant qualifications in education, child development, psychology, or health and social care (desirable but not essential)
* A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs
