Special Educational Needs Support Staff - Permanent Role

Location: Royston (Cambridge & Hertfordshire Border)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist independent day school based in Royston, on the Cambridge and Hertfordshire border. The school supports children and young people aged 6-19 with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Specific Learning Disabilities (SpLD), including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), ADHD, and associated needs. Pupils require a highly individualised and specialist approach to learning and development.

The school is a National Autistic Society (NAS) accredited Autism Specialist School, providing a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and severe learning needs
  • Providing tailored support in line with individual education and care plans
  • Assisting with learning, personal development, emotional regulation, and wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and care staff
  • Supporting pupils with care-based needs where required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable
  • Experience within care, SEN, education, or support work is very welcome
  • Understanding of autism and complex learning needs
  • Patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
  • A full, valid UK driving licence is essential due to the school's location
