SENDCO (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator)

Full Time | Term-Time Only | Competitive Salary (DOE)
Location: Thetford, Norfolk

A small, specialist school is seeking an experienced SENDCO to lead SEND and SEMH provision for pupils aged 7-17. With small class sizes, high staffing ratios, and personalised, therapeutic support, this is an opportunity to make a real difference for young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SEND provision across the school, ensuring tailored support for SEMH and SEND pupils.

  • Manage EHCPs, assessments, reviews, and statutory documentation.

  • Collaborate with staff, therapists, families, and external professionals to deliver holistic support.

  • Analyse progress data and implement personalised interventions.

  • Support staff through guidance, training, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Experience in a SEND or specialist school (essential).

  • SENDCO/NASENCO qualification (or working towards).

  • Strong understanding of SEMH, SEND, and complex overlapping needs.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Proactive, organised, and reflective approach to SEND leadership.
