SENDCO (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator)
Full Time | Term-Time Only | Competitive Salary (DOE)
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
A small, specialist school is seeking an experienced SENDCO to lead SEND and SEMH provision for pupils aged 7-17. With small class sizes, high staffing ratios, and personalised, therapeutic support, this is an opportunity to make a real difference for young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead SEND provision across the school, ensuring tailored support for SEMH and SEND pupils.
Manage EHCPs, assessments, reviews, and statutory documentation.
Collaborate with staff, therapists, families, and external professionals to deliver holistic support.
Analyse progress data and implement personalised interventions.
Support staff through guidance, training, and professional development.
Requirements
Experience in a SEND or specialist school (essential).
SENDCO/NASENCO qualification (or working towards).
Strong understanding of SEMH, SEND, and complex overlapping needs.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proactive, organised, and reflective approach to SEND leadership.
