Simply Education is working with a highly vibrant school community who support a number of students specialising in supporting their cognition and learning. Their students have a diverse range of learning needs which may affect their thinking, learning, remembering or communicating.
The Role
The school are looking for a caring and enthusiastic job coach to join their team. This role is suitable for both part-time and full-time applicants, but you must be available to work between 8:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
This is an excellent opportunity for those with mainstream school experience who are looking to transition into a SEND setting. Some pupils present with complex behaviours associated with their additional needs, so patience, resilience, and a positive approach are essential.
Key Duties
- Support Post-16 students with Special Educational Needs to develop employability, independence, and life skills through in-school and community-based work experiences.
- Work closely with students to build confidence, identify strengths, and develop practical and social skills for the workplace. Provide tailored coaching using structured strategies, and adapt support as students progress. Offer personal and behavioural support where required, ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
- Help students create CVs, prepare for interviews, and understand the value of work.
- Plan and track individual progress towards employability goals and IEP targets. Gather feedback from students and employers, provide progress updates to staff and parents, and adjust support as needed.
- Liaise with teachers, key staff, and employers to ensure coordinated support for each student.
About You
- Experience working with children or young people is essential, whether that be within a school setting or through a transferable role (for example, through sports coaching).
