📍 Location: Meldreth, Nr. Royston
💰 Salary: £14.77 - £16.13 per hour | £30,721.60 - £33,550.40 per annum
🕒 Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week | 52 weeks/year
📄 Contract: Permanent

Are you a passionate and experienced Skills Tutor looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young adults with complex needs? We are an education recruitment agency working on behalf of a well-established specialist education provider, currently seeking a dedicated Skills Tutor to join a highly supportive team in a unique residential and educational setting.

This setting provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties, complex health needs, and associated conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, and brain injuries. Set within 14 acres of peaceful grounds, it's the ideal place to promote independence and enhance quality of life.

⭐ Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver tailored education plans focusing on communication, independence, and life skills.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group instruction using a range of communication methods, including AAC systems.

  • Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team including Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other professionals.

  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of learning plans to ensure positive outcomes.

  • Support individuals who may display challenging behaviour, following behaviour support plans.

✅ Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A teaching or training qualification (minimum Level 3) in Health or Social Care or related field.

  • At least 2 years' experience working with young adults with complex needs.

  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.

  • A team player attitude with the ability to lead support staff effectively.

  • Confidence in handling challenging behaviour and delivering person-centred support.

  • IT literacy and the ability to maintain accurate records.

  • A proactive, resilient, and compassionate approach.

  • An Enhanced DBS check will be required for all successful applicants, in line with safeguarding practices
