Spanish Teacher Vacancy - Romford (Outer London)

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and committed Spanish Teacher to join our successful and forward-thinking Modern Foreign Languages department at a secondary school in Romford. This is a full-time, fixed-term position to cover maternity leave, commencing in March 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate).

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner to inspire students and promote a passion for languages within a supportive and ambitious school community.


About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential)

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners

  • Promote strong progress and attainment through effective assessment and feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the continued development of the MFL department

  • Use a range of teaching strategies to encourage speaking, listening, reading and writing proficiency

  • Monitor and track student progress, intervening where necessary to raise achievement

  • Participate fully in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives

  • Support enrichment activities such as language clubs, trips, or cultural events


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Spanish language and culture

  • The ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities

  • Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour and achievement

  • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learners

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • A reflective approach to teaching and a commitment to continuous professional development
