About the Role

As a Sports Coach, you will:

  • Plan and deliver inclusive sports and physical education sessions tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH and other special educational needs.
  • Encourage students to participate in a variety of sports and physical activities that build confidence and promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Foster teamwork, social skills, and positive behaviour through sports and physical education.
  • Support students in managing emotions and developing self-discipline during activities.
  • Organise and oversee enrichment activities such as sports tournaments and team-building exercises.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to integrate sports into the students' broader educational and personal development plans.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, inspiring students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

About the School

Our school provides a safe and inclusive environment for students aged 11-14 with SEMH and other special educational needs. Many of our students have faced interruptions to their education, and we use tailored support and enrichment opportunities to help them rebuild confidence and develop life skills.

With activities like animal care, e-sports, and physical education, we offer students unique ways to grow and succeed, both inside and outside the classroom.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience coaching sports or working with young people in a physical education setting.
  • Is passionate about the benefits of physical activity for personal and social development.
  • Has the patience, empathy, and resilience to work with students with SEMH needs.
  • Can inspire and motivate students to participate and achieve.
  • Is skilled at building positive relationships and managing challenging behaviour.
  • Holds relevant coaching qualifications or experience (desirable but not essential).
