Supply Teacher - Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire

£150-£200 per day (DOE)
Full-time / Part-time | Immediate & Ongoing Roles

Simply Education is looking for reliable, flexible and confident Supply Teachers to work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding Staffordshire area. This is an excellent role for qualified teachers or experienced cover staff who are comfortable delivering mixed-lesson cover using pre‑prepared work across KS3-KS4.

We can offer daily supply, short-term cover, and long-term placements, depending on your preferences and availability.

Location & School Information

• Secondary schools in Newcastle-under-Lyme and nearby areas
• Supportive departments with strong behaviour policies
• General cover across multiple subjects (all work provided)
• KS3-KS4 mixed classes
• Roles available due to staff absences, school growth and long‑term requirements
• Ofsted ratings vary across partner schools

Start Dates & Contract Options

• Immediate start dates
• April and September roles also available
• Daily, short-term and long-term cover
• Temp‑to‑perm opportunities in select schools
• Both full‑time and part‑time roles considered

Hours & Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• Typical hours: 8:15am-3:30pm
• Part‑time availability welcome

Salary & Pay

• £150-£200 per day
• PAYE available
• Pay depends on experience and responsibility

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Maintain a positive, calm and structured classroom environment
• Ensure students stay on task and complete set work
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Support learners across KS3-KS4
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times
• (Long‑term roles may include some marking and pastoral duties)

Requirements

• QTS / QTLS / relevant teaching qualification or strong recent secondary cover experience
• Confident covering mixed lessons
• Good behaviour management and classroom presence
• Reliable, flexible and professional
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
