🧪 Teacher of Chemistry Secondary School
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Start Date: April 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Salary: £140 - £250 per day - MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
A well-regarded secondary school in East, Kent is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join their successful Science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students and bring the subject to life in the classroom.
The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop within a supportive environment.
🔬 The Role
As a Chemistry Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable)
- Support students in developing strong scientific knowledge and practical skills
- Deliver well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching where necessary
- Contribute to the wider Science department and school community
🎯 The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have strong subject knowledge in Chemistry
- Be confident teaching practical experiments safely and effectively
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
- Be passionate about improving outcomes and inspiring students
