KS2 Teacher - SEMH / Alternative Provision
Full-time & Part-time Opportunities
Simply Education is recruiting a passionate and resilient Key Stage 2 Teacher to work within a specialist setting providing alternative and special education for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role
You will be teaching pupils who face a wide range of complex barriers to education, including those who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting pupils to re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
With a strong emphasis on transition and reintegration, the setting supports pupils to move successfully back into mainstream education, training, or employment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and differentiated KS2 lessons tailored to individual needs
Support pupils with challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent, and trauma-informed way
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Monitor progress and celebrate both academic and personal achievements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or pupils with challenging behaviour (desirable)
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
A patient, flexible, and empathetic approach
A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
