About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to work within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. You will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome emotional and behavioural challenges to succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

· Build strong, trusting relationships with students with SEMH needs, offering emotional support.

· Provide one-to-one and small group support focused on emotional regulation, social skills, and behaviour management.

· Collaborate with the SEN team to develop and implement personalised learning plans.

· Foster student participation and help them engage positively with lessons.

· Support students during breaks and transitions to manage their emotions in social settings.

· Ensure a positive and nurturing environment, following safeguarding and behaviour management policies.

What We're Looking For:

· Experience working with students with SEMH needs or other emotional/behavioural challenges.

· A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with students.

· Knowledge and experience in supporting students with SEMH in a classroom setting.

· A proactive attitude, adaptable to the needs of students with varied emotional and educational challenges.

· Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

· Team-oriented mindset, working closely with other professionals.

· Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or support work (desirable but not essential).
