Teaching Assistant (TA)

Chadderton
Start Date: ASAP / September

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students in Chadderton. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning and develop both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons

  • Provide 1:1 or small group interventions for students with additional needs

  • Help implement behaviour support strategies and encourage positive engagement

  • Monitor student progress and report feedback to the teaching team

  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

Must-Have Skills:

  • Experience working with children or young people (preferably in a school setting)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Patience, empathy, and ability to build rapport with students

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English & Maths or equivalent)

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • First Aid or Team Teach training

  • Experience running small group activities or interventions
