Teaching Assistant - SEND (Special Educational Needs)
Salary: £24,570 - £25,935 per year
Temp to Perm Position
Simply Education are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a dynamic provision supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviours. This Temp to Perm position offers the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of students and to support them in overcoming barriers to learning.
You will be responsible for delivering tailored support, ensuring students engage with the curriculum, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will also work alongside parents and caregivers to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students with SEN across the classroom, home tuition, and outreach settings.
Assist with the preparation of learning materials and support the delivery of educational objectives.
Focus on behavioural management strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
Prepare and deliver daily reports on student progress and any barriers to learning.
Regular interaction with parents/caregivers to ensure they are informed about their child's progress and needs.
Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through personalised interventions.
Ideal Candidate:
A committed and passionate approach to supporting students with SEND.
At least two years' experience working in an SEN environment or similar provision.
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous.
Strong behavioural management skills, with the ability to engage students who may present with challenging behaviours.
Excellent communication skills, including experience working with parents/caregivers.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible attitude, with a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
