About the Role

Simply Education is seeking enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants and Learning Mentors to work across a range of Primary, Secondary, and SEND settings throughout Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them to overcome challenges in their learning.

You will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs, promoting their emotional wellbeing, academic progress, and personal development. The role is highly rewarding, offering the chance to make a genuine and positive impact on pupils' daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development.
    * Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
    * Assist in the development and delivery of personalised support plans.
    * Help students manage their behaviour and emotions within a structured environment.
    * Encourage active participation and engagement in classroom activities.
    * Support students in developing essential social and life skills.
    * Assist during break and lunch times when required.
    * Prepare classroom resources and work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs.
    * Uphold all safeguarding policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND or SEMH needs. All levels of experience will be considered.
    * A patient, compassionate, and supportive approach.
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    * Ability to motivate and inspire students facing challenges in education.
    * Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
    * A proactive, adaptable attitude to meet the diverse needs of learners.
    * Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or youth support are desirable but not essential.
