Job Description:
As a Teaching Assistant at our school, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both primary and secondary-aged students, ensuring they receive the individualized attention and encouragement needed to succeed. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to deliver tailored learning strategies, particularly for students with additional needs such as SEMH.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting students in both primary and secondary classrooms across different subjects
Providing one-to-one support for students with SEMH or other special educational needs
Assisting with the delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementing strategies to support emotional and behavioral development
Encouraging positive behavior and fostering a safe, supportive environment for all students
Working alongside class teachers and other professionals to assess student progress and help in the development of learning resources
Promoting inclusive learning and ensuring all students have access to the curriculum, regardless of their needs
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or other learning needs, is highly desirable
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young people, especially those with emotional and behavioral challenges
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting teachers and other staff members
A strong commitment to inclusive education and improving the educational experiences of children with additional needs
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or the willingness to undergo the check
