Teaching Assistant - Permanent SEMH Role (Immediate Start)
Location: Old Trafford, Greater Manchester
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £21,500 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
The Role
Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Old Trafford to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a permanent, direct role with the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed individual seeking long-term stability within a specialist education setting.
The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, requiring staff who can provide consistent, structured, and emotionally informed support.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
Supporting teaching and learning activities under staff guidance
Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN professionals
Person Specification
Experience within SEND, SEMH, PRU, Alternative Provision, or similar settings is highly desirable
Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
Backgrounds in education, youth work, care, or support work are welcomed
