Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Ely, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school provides a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment, helping pupils develop emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and confidence both in and out of the classroom.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join this committed team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role in supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviours, emotional regulation difficulties, and complex social needs.
Due to the location of the school and pupil transport requirements, a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs in class, one-to-one, and in small groups
- Assist teachers in delivering structured lessons and tailored learning programmes
- Support behaviour management and positive intervention strategies
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social skills, and self-confidence
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Contribute to a safe, calm, and consistent learning environment
About You
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH or additional needs
- Calm, patient, and resilient, with a consistent and positive approach
- Confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional needs
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
