About the Role:
Simply Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support an Indipendent SEMH School based in Wisbech. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and SEMH needs, who are passionate about making a positive difference in children's learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support for children with SEMH and ASD needs, both individually and in small groups
Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans
Support the emotional wellbeing and social development of pupils
Collaborate with teaching staff to implement strategies that promote engagement and positive behaviour
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and reporting
Support classroom management, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment
Contribute to the wider pastoral and academic goals of the school
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working with children with SEMH and/or ASD needs
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a school setting
Understanding of strategies to support social, emotional, and behavioural development
Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexible, proactive, and professional approach
