Are you a skilled tradesperson with a passion for education? Do you have experience working with students with SEMH and SEND needs?

Simply Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Vocational Studies Teacher to deliver practical skills training in bricklaying, plastering, and related trades, on behalf of a specialist school in Scunthorpe. This full-time (40 hours per week) role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people, providing them with valuable vocational skills and pathways to future employment.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and practical vocational training in bricklaying, plastering, and related construction trades.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH and SEND.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on instruction, ensuring students develop essential skills and knowledge.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with school staff and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students.

About You:

  • Proven experience in bricklaying, plastering, or related construction trades.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH and SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support young people.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or experience (tutors with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply).
