Class Teacher SEND

Job description

Are you a teacher who thrives on making a real difference? We are looking for an inspiring SEND Class Teacher to join specialist settings and alternative provisions across Northamptonshire, working with pupils who require tailored, compassionate, and highly structured support.

You will take ownership of a small class of pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism (ASC), PMLD, and complex learning needs, helping them to achieve both academically and emotionally in a supportive environment.

This role suits an experienced SEND professional or a mainstream teacher ready to transition into a specialist setting.



Your Role Will Include:

  • Leading and delivering personalised, inclusive learning for pupils with EHCPs

  • Designing creative and flexible lessons that meet diverse learning styles

  • Providing consistent routines and a calm, secure classroom environment

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social development

  • Using positive, trauma-aware behaviour strategies

  • Working in partnership with teaching assistants, SENCOs, families, and external professionals

  • Assessing progress and contributing to reviews, targets, and reports



We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has experience or a strong interest in SEND education

  • Is confident supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs

  • Remains calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations

  • Is committed to inclusive practice and pupil wellbeing

  • Has a DBS on the Update Service or is happy to apply for one
