Computer Science Teacher - Immediate Start

Location: Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent Contract: Full-time | Long-term Start Date: Immediate Agency: Simply Education

Simply Education is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join a successful secondary school in the Tunstall area. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator to deliver high‑quality Computer Science teaching within a supportive and forward‑thinking department. The school is looking to appoint immediately and welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well‑structured Computer Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Teach key topics such as programming, algorithms, data representation, cybersecurity and computational thinking

  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum requirements

  • Support pupils of varying abilities, ensuring strong progress for all learners

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and collaborative projects

  • Provide constructive feedback to support pupil attainment

  • Participate in wider school life including duties, parents' evenings and CPD opportunities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and related technologies

  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners through creative and practical teaching

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
