Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools - Staffordshire
£90-£130 per day (depending on experience)
Full-time / Part-time | Immediate & Ongoing Roles Available
Simply Education is recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in Staffordshire. We are offering opportunities for daily supply, short‑term cover and long‑term roles depending on your availability.
This role is ideal for those with experience working with young people who feel confident managing a classroom and delivering pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects.
Location & School Information
- Secondary schools across Staffordshire
- Supportive staff teams and cover managers
- A mixture of behavioural and low‑level disruption schools
- Ofsted ratings vary across partner schools
- Positive school ethos with clear behaviour policies
- Mixed KS3-KS4 classes
- Roles available due to staff absence, internal progression and increased demand
Start Date & Contract Details
- Immediate, April and September starts available
- Daily supply, short‑term and long‑term cover
- Temp‑to‑perm opportunities for strong candidates
- Full‑time and part‑time options considered
- Contract lengths vary by school requirements
Hours & Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- Typically 8:15am-3:30pm
- Flexible working possible for part‑time candidates
Salary & Pay
- £90-£130 per day
- PAYE available
- Pay dependent on experience and responsibility level
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons to classes in the absence of the teacher
- Maintain behaviour standards and follow school policies
- Support students with learning where appropriate
- Supervise whole classes across a range of subjects
- Manage transitions, settle classes, and keep pupils on task
- Provide feedback to relevant staff following lessons
- Uphold safeguarding and follow policies at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work, etc.)
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Confidence delivering prepared lessons
- Flexible, resilient and reliable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant degree or school experience ideal, but not essential
