English Teacher - Secondary School - Staffordshire
£150-£200 per day (dependent on experience)
Full-time / Part-time | Immediate & Ongoing Roles Available
Simply Education is recruiting a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to work across a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in Staffordshire. We have opportunities available for daily supply, short-term cover and long-term placements, depending on your preference.
This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are confident delivering engaging English Language & Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.

- Secondary schools across Staffordshire
- Supportive English departments
- Mixture of full-class teaching and smaller groups
- Ofsted ratings vary by school
- Positive school ethos with a strong focus on reading, writing and cultural development
- Mixed classes across KS3-KS4
- GCSE and Functional Skills pathways depending on the school
- Roles available due to maternity covers, staff progression and increased student need
Start Date & Contract Details
- Immediate, April or September starts
- Daily supply, short-term and long-term roles
- Temp-to-perm opportunities available
- Full-time and part-time considered
- Roles open for various durations depending on the school's needs
Hours & Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- School hours (typically 8:15am-3:30pm)
- Part-time teaching options available
Salary & Pay
- £150-£200 per day
- Pay reflective of experience and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Differentiate learning to support students of all abilities
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations
- Mark and assess student work (for long-term roles)
- Maintain positive behaviour and classroom expectations
- Contribute to departmental planning where required
- Uphold safeguarding at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
- QTS, QTLS or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
- Recent secondary teaching experience
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements
- Excellent behaviour management strategies
- A proactive, flexible and committed approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
