English Teacher - Secondary Schools
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £150 - £200 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Job Type: Full-time | Long-term or Permanent Opportunities Available

Simply Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools in Stockport from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire a love of literature, language, and learning in a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations, ensuring progress and attainment for all ability levels.

  • Promote a strong culture of literacy, critical thinking, and creative expression.

  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in line with school and national expectations.

  • Contribute to whole-school literacy initiatives and extracurricular enrichment activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.

  • Specialism in English Language and/or Literature, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.

  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to motivate and inspire students.

  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners.

  • Effective organisational and communication skills.

  • Suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners.
