About the Role

Simply Education are currently working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area. They are seeking a creative and dynamic Humanities Teacher to join their thriving Humanities department and inspire students across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Humanities lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment.

  • Provide constructive feedback through marking and grading.

  • Maintain discipline and encourage high standards of behaviour and punctuality.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and teaching strategies.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support student development.

Key Skills & Qualities

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong subject knowledge in Humanities and a passion for inspiring curiosity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management techniques.

  • Empathy and patience, especially when working with students requiring additional support.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Humanities in line with the national curriculum.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

  • Experience supporting students with SEN.

  • Commitment to inclusive education.
