Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London) - dependent on experience

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sociology Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Sociology lessons, inspiring students to think critically about society, culture, and social change.

This role is suitable for ECTs, recently qualified teachers, or experienced practitioners looking to further develop their career in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons at GCSE and/or A Level

  • Develop students' analytical, evaluative, and written skills in line with exam board specifications

  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively

  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the department

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and engagement

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice

  • Support the wider life of the school, including pastoral responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to obtain it

  • A degree in Sociology or a closely related subject

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Sociology

  • The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding

  • Willingness to contribute positively to the school community
