Learning Support Assistant - SEN School

About the Role:

Simply Education is working closely with a warm and welcoming Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with a range of learning and developmental needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex needs.

This is a highly rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will play a crucial role in helping young learners overcome barriers to learning by offering academic, emotional, and behavioural support-either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with additional needs in and outside the classroom
• Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated activities
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students' emotional regulation
• Helping with personal care, where necessary (training provided)
• Monitoring progress and reporting back to teachers and SEN staff

About You:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A genuine passion for working with children with SEN
• Some experience in a similar role (school, residential, care, or youth work preferred)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children
• Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, safeguarding)

Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• 2 professional references
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• Full UK driving license
