Maths Teacher - Specialist Provision
Location: Alsager, Cheshire
Salary: £120 - £145 per day
Start Date: April and September 2025 available
Contract: Full-time, Long-term contract

About the Role:

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in mathematics, supporting students in building a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills. You will work with students who may have a range of additional needs, and will adapt your teaching to meet the specific learning requirements of each student, ensuring they can access and enjoy the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Maths lessons that are both challenging and accessible for students of all abilities
  • Focus on developing functional maths skills that will benefit students both in their academic studies and in everyday life
  • Use differentiation strategies to cater to the diverse needs of SEND students
  • Collaborate with Learning Mentors and other staff to ensure students receive targeted support
  • Encourage a growth mindset and build confidence in students' ability to succeed in Maths
  • Help students work towards Maths qualifications (e.g., GCSEs, functional skills)

Key Requirements:

  • PGCE and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • A strong understanding of Mathematics and the ability to make the subject engaging and accessible for students with special educational needs
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a passion for teaching students with diverse learning needs
  • Experience working with SEND students or a willingness to learn effective strategies for this setting
